It comes as little surprise that this blooming and picturesque park in Minsk produces one of the best ghost walks in Belarus.
The gruesome legend of the park says that more than a century ago the owner of the park and the manor. Evstafy Lyubansky fell in love with a young girl called Yadviga Kenevich and married her. Evstafy was a flourishing businessman and a keen gardener who arranged renovated the manor and arranged a park complex with exotic trees from all over the world for his beloved wife. Yadviga herself was a well-educated young woman who attracted the attention of many admirers.
In June 1905, Jadviga celebrated her 35th anniversary. Therefore Evstafy organized a magnificent ball in her honor. During the ball Evstafy felt jealous of his wife and a terrible row broke out. In the morning Jadviga disappeared. When little dogs, which always accompanied the hostess, brought her hat, Evstafy realized that something had happened. It turned out that Yadviga had drowned.
Soon the forlorn widower left Loshitsa. They say that before leaving the manor Evstafy had planted a Manchurian apricot near the place of the Jadviga’s death. Although the tree didn’t survive up to now, they say that at the time of its flowering, and in the summer before the Kupalle holiday on moonlit nights, a ghost appears in the park. It is the ghost of Jadviga in a luxurious white evening dress. Some girls believe that meeting the ghost will bring you luck in love.
The unique environmental circumstances make Loshitsa a perfect spot to visit.
